King of Scars

For the first in my book cover series I did the book King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo. The original all-gold cover is gorgeous, especially in person when you can see all of the gold foil. I decided to do a much darker cover, drawing out some details from the story.

The Grisha novels are some of my favorites, and King of Scars has quickly become one of my favorites. Nikolai Lantsov is the king of Ravka, and also a dangerous threat to his people. While he sleeps, he transforms into a monstrous creature that takes to the skies and feeds on anything it can find. Zoya Nazyalensky is the leader of his Grisha army, and possibly his only hope of finding a way to get rid of his shadow beast.
